What was actually said

“I'm trying to incorporate AI code tools into my flow, but my issue is that I spend a lot of time code reviewing AI. I wanted to find an AI tool that helps me code review better — look at a diff and present it to me in a way that makes it easy to understand.”

Background and pain

The pain

AI produces code faster than humans can review it; the reviewer is the bottleneck and diffs show changes, not intent.

A buildable angle

The opening

A review tool that turns a diff into block-by-block explanations, risk flags and missing-test hints — 'understand AI code in 30 seconds'. Per-seat subscription.

How to validate it

  1. Read the whole thread and note the recurring scenarios — repetition is the density of the need.
  2. Search existing tools around "code review / ai tools" and check which single step they actually cover.
  3. Put up a one-line landing page, share it back to Hacker News, and see whether anyone asks about pricing.

Existing options

CodeRabbit, Copilot Code Review

Check out the branch, run the code locally, read it, ask claude code or codex or whatever harness to explain things you don't understand. Ask it to diagram the code boundaries and modules and model the system so you can visually understand it. use AI to write smoke tests without access to the code i.e. first describe something a correct implementation should do with only the knowledge of the interface not the implementation, and run the tests to see if it behaves the way you think it should.

Cloudflare has a good post on the Ai or review system. We modeled ours after it. Much of it comes down to two things 1. Removing the mechanical parts from agent responsibility in your CI workflow 2. Having good instructions and subagents / team / loop

Would recommend checking out coderabbit change stack. it essentially does exactly what you're looking for
