What real users complain about is your next product
DemandHunt scans Hacker News, Stack Exchange, Shopify, n8n, Ghost, Obsidian and OpenAI communities every day, then turns recurring requests into opportunity cards: the original quote, the real pain, one buildable angle — always with the source link.
Ask HN: How has your company adapted interviews in the AI world? Comments: formal-methods people get called first; others emphasize reading code live, asking for optimizations, spotting flaws in AI-generated code.
We found ourselves frequently switching between different coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) anytime we ran out of usage limits or a newer model came out. We became increasingly frustrated with having to re-explain our tasks, workflows, common mistake patterns, etc. anytime we switched agents.
I'm trying to incorporate AI code tools into my flow, but my issue is that I spend a lot of time code reviewing AI. I wanted to find an AI tool that helps me code review better — look at a diff and present it to me in a way that makes it easy to understand.
I maintain a set of REST microservices (Go and Node.js, in Docker on Linux) and our API regression suite is mostly hand-written Postman collections. Keeping them updated takes too much time, and our mocks for downstream services drift from real behaviour.
I've a few services that currently use a chat service and a CLI client to generically send notifications from various apps. I'd like something similar without being tied to a chat client — just native web browsers. Something self-hosted, running behind nginx.
In August 2026, Google Search rolled out tracking passthrough URLs formatted as google.com/goto, replacing real URLs on hover. Is there a way to skip the redirect?
I play guitar at folk clubs and camps. The problem is 'knowing what you know'. Back in the 2000s I came up with a list view with 2 lines per entry in Access 97: title and key on the first line, lyric snippet on the second. Modern database front-ends only give one line.
We are considering using Zoho People for HR management, attendance, leave, overtime, and employee records for a company in Egypt. The main issue is that Zoho Payroll is not available in Egypt. We mainly need a reliable monthly payroll output: salary, attendance deductions, unpaid leave, overtime, penalties, bonuses, and net payable.
We are a subsidiary and copy via ODBC part of a big database from our parent company onto our own servers. The old software we are using is at the end of its life-cycle; it was never the best and we built a lot of workarounds within and around it.
I manage a single Linux VPS (Ubuntu) and I am currently juggling several separate tools: SSH to run commands, upload/download over SFTP, and manage MySQL and PostgreSQL (queries, browsing tables, quick backups).
On a client project, Copilot and Codex rate-limit me for 30+ minutes at a time — even on paid plans. Looking for a free/open-source VS Code assistant with no strict caps.
I'm in a Facebook group that has posted trivia since 2015 and want to catalogue every post. Problem 1: group search omits posts. Problem 2: scrolling crashes around 2022.
My phone auto-uploads photos to Nextcloud. On desktop I want a GUI that downloads files from the WebDAV server and deletes them afterwards to free space.
I don't want a whitespace change to replace the whole line, and commenting a line shouldn't count as a rewrite either — so I can track the code that actually stayed the same.
Sharing links to internal services (e.g. http://10.8.39.29:7830/) in Slack triggers a 'make sure you trust this link' dialog every single time — pure friction for teams living in internal tools.
My IP is shared by thousands of people and Cloudflare has been blocking all Stack Exchange sites for days — an annoying false positive. Looking for an alternative frontend.
I curate a large resource list for language learners (channels, podcasts, films per language) on Notion. As it grew, loading got slow and navigation clumsy. I want a web app for maintaining and sharing a very long structured markdown list.
I have a large body of optical media (CDs, DVDs, BDs) to archive — a mixed, aging collection where data integrity and reproducibility matter more than speed.
I want only a single transit route in Google Maps instead of three alternatives at once. Driving/walking routes can be pinned via waypoints; transit can't, and the share-link trick no longer works.
Converting German text to speech, even OpenAI and ElevenLabs make lots of mistakes — '74000€' and '1.' come out garbled, so users hand-rewrite the text.
I'm working on an embedded C project with a complicated network of structures, pointers and 'objects' — part legacy, part written by someone else. I want to understand the codebase's structure.
Swagger presents a JSON API schema nicely. What tool does the same for a database schema stored as JSON/XML? I want to track schema changes with Git only.
Looking for A/B testing tools for Shopify: test UI variants like Buy-button color or text, track metrics easily, integrate without heavy customization.
I patch a third-party site's JS via DevTools → Source → Overrides. Works, but next visit it's inert until I open DevTools again — and the JS lives in webpack chunks, so swapping it isn't easy.
Is it possible, via some supported mechanism, to apply automated translation to Google Play books — so people can read any book in their native language?
Google Voice SMS forwards to Gmail with the subject 'New text message from ...'. I want the subject to summarize the text, like 'Request: Pick up milk'.
I need cloud file storage with automated virus scanning of everything uploaded: users upload securely without seeing each other's files, then generate public share links.
High-end phones have embedded LLMs accessible via AICore, usable offline. I'm building an app on this SDK and want to crowdsource real responses across devices.
Obtainium installs and updates apps straight from their releases pages and notifies on new versions — just add a URI. Does a desktop-OS equivalent exist?
I teach several classes that end after 25 sessions. Holidays and cancellations push the counter back, and I track it in my head — often wrongly. Calendars don't carry the count forward on deletion.
I need an Android app that mirrors an Android TV's screen onto my phone, interactively — control the TV from the phone. The opposite of standard casting.
Looking for a Babelfish: real-time speech-to-speech translation on an Android phone, fully offline and open source — set the output language, talk to the phone in English, and it speaks the translation.
